Two Doors Replaced with Double Roller Door

AMO Roller Doors was approached by a resident of Gawthorpe in Wakefield, he wanted to remove two up and over doors and replace it with one Double Roller Door. The installation of one large door meant removing a central brick pillar and installing a new lintel.

We liaised with the client and builder to discuss what was required in completing the works safely. The new lintel was installed and the central pillar cut prior to our attendance to install the Double Roller Garage Door.

On the day of installation the existing up and over garage doors were removed along with their timber frames. The central pillar was then knocked down to create a double opening at just under 5000mm wide.

A double roller garage door in white was installed. The door is automated by a 240v tube

motor and controlled by a Somfy Rollixo remote control system. The system included two remote control hand transmitters, courtesy light and also an integrated alarm. The door also has a Somfy wireless system to ensure the door is compliant with the latest regulations.

The safety edge system ensures that the door travel stops and reverses direction should anything come into contact with the bottom rail.

Due to no additional entry door been available to the garage, we installed a low level external override facility. This allows the door to be opened from the outside should the power be cut off to the garage.

The low level is kept secure by a key lock and a removable handle to ensure that only the home owner can gain access.

The finished door was a great hit with the customer and his wife. It meant that the car could be parked in the garage and removed without the need for the wing mirrors having to be folded in.
